Comments: **Update** Following my research into my cousin Angus Ruffhead I am now in possession of a quantity of photos of 184 Squadron taken between Jan 1943 and Jan 1944.They feature the chaps in the squadron, socially and some of the Hurricanes. I am in contact with Dave Russell-Smith and Len Thorpe who will help me to identify who's who/where they were taken. Dave will be in receipt of copies of these photos.(Dave will probably add these on here) Anyone with interest contact Dave as he is managing the material and content on this site. If I can assist anyone who has a relative/friend in the pictures or research that may help their own family history or memorial tribute to their relative on here then please contact me.My husband has a great deal of knowledge and research tips for miltary and family history archives.
Comments: My F/LT Angus Ruffhead was my Grandfather's cousin. He served with 184 from Jan 1943 to Jan 1944.I now know that he was shot down on 06/01/1944 at Le Toquet. I also know abouth the tragic accident at Detling in Nov 1943 when Pam Barton dies.I have cried many tears abouth this. I have already been in touch with Dave Russell Smith and have spoken to Len Thorpe who has kindly given me a couple of photos of Angus. Reading the ORB's It seeems that Angus and other squadron members went F/O DEAN's wedding party in London on 04/10/43. I am ever hopeful that there may be picures of Angus and some of the squadron at either social events or operations. I would love to hear from any surviving 184 members or their families. Today-being Battle of Britain day-means my thoughts today are with all those brave RAF Boys who served in WW2. Kindest regards to you all. Daniela

Comments: My cousin Charles Geoffrey Polkey was a Warrant Officer with 184 squadron. He was shot down and killed 25 May 1944 whilst flying Typhoon MN233 during a bombing raid on the marshalling yard Gisors France. I think he had taken off from Westhampnett. If anyone has any photos of him, they would be most welcome.

Comments: My Father, Johnny Marshall was a warrant officer with 184 squadron from December 1944 to disbandment 1945, flying Typhoons in combat over Northern Europe to VE day.
Sadly, Johnny passed away in August 1984 - how proud he would have been to experience the remeberance, respect and honour paid to his comrades on this excellent website.
I would be very pleased to hear from any Typhoon pilots, ground crew or anyone for that matter, who knew, or knew of, my Dad.
Well done Dave and thank you - keep up the good work.
