Does anyone remember a Thomas Roland "Hoot" Gibson or "Gibby"?
I have a couple of photos of my Grandad now, and was wondering if any more could be unearthed? The one I have is with J "Curly" Bartly and Flt Lt Bob Hornall.

Cheers peeps!

Admin reply: Tyler the only other contacts I have had with groundcrew is Howard Burton who was able to supply us with a whole group of photo's from his father George

I am in the Air Training Corps and 184 is my squadron number. All I'd like to say it is an honour to serve the same squadron number as your father did :)

Admin reply: Zayn,
I will pass on your kind remarks to my father next time I speak with him.

Fabulous website, thanks to all who have contributed to this fascinating tribute.
My interest is in Angus Anwyl Vaughan MAXWELL, who seems to have joined 184 squadron sometime early in 1945. I have been delighted to see some information about him on this site, and also a photo of him labelled as "Pete" Maxwell - does anyone know how that nickname came about please?
I woulc also love to know where he was serving before he joined 184 but don't know how to procede. His service number was 1586604 until he was comissioned in June 1945 when it became 198678.
Many thanks.

Admin reply: Thanks for the info, have sent you an email Sara

I was just checking the 184 website and saw your post of Dad's passing. Ralph " Hap" Downing, lived life fully, not one to miss a moment. All 6 of us were blessed to call him "Pops".

Thanks for your posting.

Jan Downing,
Hap's youngest
